It is to this end, that Peckish has devised its new working practises to ensure a safe working environment for the caterer whilst ensuring the same high quality of food and service to all our clients.
From PPE through to Hot boxing, from hand washing stations through to set up and break down, all will now change and from this, Peckish both understands and appreciates the impact this will have on both, location catering as well as corporate catering. As a result of this, Peckish Catering Services, has made a substantial investment in the latest of hot boxes to bring a completely new level of hot boxing service to your location.
New Hot Boxes
For shoots of up to 100 pax, these hot box containers enable us to place large trays of hot food onto shelving for a fixed position and ease of travel, allows for up to 4 large trays of hot food per box, front loading for ease of service with a solid thermo lined exterior to ensure no damage to food during transport. Less than 1 degree of temp lost per hour.

From Blue gloves worn at all times by the catering staff, to full Peckish aprons, face masks where required through to face guards and shields for maximum safety during service times. A new hand wash facility will be present during all services and available for crew to use prior to eating with our new hand wash station, this will be located directly by the entrance to the serving area, the hand wash station is:
Using tried and tested TEAL Bluesensor technology, the hand wash sink is fully automatic with nothing to reset and nothing to adjust. No messy taps to re-contaminate clean hands. The unique features of the hand wash sink mean, constant warm running water. The water always at the optimum temperature of 40° – 43°C. Highly portable – the hand wash sink can be plugged in to any convenient 13-amp socket with nothing to reset or adjust.
Again, Peckish have now invested in new super-size serving gazebos that measure 8m x 4m. This allows for an entrance and an exit with a clear flow for serving, with the handwash station placed outside the entrance. This also allows us to create a one-way system allowing and ensuring social distancing. All foods will be placed onto new high spec serving tables with stainless steel for ease of cleaning.
Additional Serving Platforms
Direct hot food delivery – Using the same hot boxes, we can box the meals up by portion and deliver for a direct hot lunch option with no serving station required other than a table to hand out the portions for those that are very short of space for catering.
Cold Buffet Lunches – Cold buffet options, complete with tables for serving, with a wide choice of healthy and modern salads and desserts to eat at your leisure.
Cold Boxed Lunches – Whether it be a salad or a full packed lunch, we can deliver direct to your shoot.
Disposables: All foods that are delivered as part of the new hot box range will be served in our fully recyclable, sustainable and environmentally friendly disposables, from wooden cutlery, through to lunch containers through to the salad boxes and dessert trays. Crockery and cutlery are available on request, but a surcharge will be added per head as all utensils will be taken back to unit base for deep cleaning daily.
Menus: A full and new range of menus have been designed to suit all budgets, across the board caterers, are experiencing a surge in costs for most products that were readily available only 6 months ago, we have tried to keep the costs down where possible, but there is an increase across the board as the cost for PPE sky rockets and the cost of food starts to go up. Tea and Coffee Stations: Tea and coffee stations can still be supplied but like everything else we need to adjust the offering. A selection of urns are now available to hire along with Tea and coffee boxes filled with all your needs, from teas and speciality teas, coffee, hot chocolate, milks, sugars and stirrers, cups will be supplied with the boxes but additional cups and lids can be supplied for an additional cost.
Logistics and Set Up: For a full set up and serve, we initially require an hour for set up and an hour to break down the serving areas, food, tables and gazebo. Smaller set ups and drop offs will require much less time, for example, if there is an area inside for food service, then we only require 30 minutes to set up tables, chaffing dishes and food. For the handwash facility, a 13 amp socket is all that is required and a water supply is required if you require a tea and coffee station. Space for an 8m x 4m gazebo or smaller if you only require a smaller gazebo. Our food trucks are always available for use during this time as well.
